performing
Performing for an audience is an integral part of the Japanese style of tying. I’ve performed on stages large and small, at festivals and events like Burning Man and Folsom Street Fair, at rope education conferences, and at parties and clubs for audiences of all sizes.
Most of my performances are spontaneously improvised. For certain events, I will opt to choregraph some aspects of a performance, but it is not my preference. The more trust I have in myself, my partner, and the audience, the less need I feel to plan things in advance.
On this page are select photos from a couple of my performances with the lovely “G” at the 2022 edition of a large multi-day Halloween fetish party in Ohio called TRAUMA. Thanks to the talented photographers who captured these wonderful shots, B. Hockensmith and Rust and Bone Media. These photos have been reedited for this website for size, clarity, color, and consistency.
